It's about honor !

It is important to keep a good name or reputation. A bad reputation is difficult to overcome. Solomon mentioned in Proverbs that a man who betrayed the confidence of a neighbor would never lose his bad reputation. (Proverbs 25:9-10) Good reputations are without value. They go before us, but sometimes not as quickly as a bad reputation. Good reputations can keep us in a job. Bad reputations can keep us looking for a job. (read more)

It's about integrity!

If we are going to live lives of integrity on the road, we must be men who are undivided in purpose. We must be whole and complete, not men who are broken by frequent lapses in moral behavior such as sexual impropriety or by more subtle lapses such as dishonesty. Men who are whole are men who are focused on being the men of integrity that they were created to be. (read more)

It's about purity!

Two of the biggest things that destroy marriages are financial difficulties and infidelity. Of those, only one is so grievous to the relationship that God granted permission in the Bible for divorce when it is present. (read more)

Why the emphasis on traveling people?

Exact numbers are difficult to pin down, but there are millions of professional truck and bus drivers in America—drivers that spend days and weeks away from their families. Unknown numbers of people travel in other occupations. Those people are inundated with temptations of every kind every day. One of the greatest temptations for them is sexually immoral activity.

Traveling workers are young, older, male, female, and of every nationality. Some are Christian. Many are not. Whether they are professing Christians or not, they face difficulties that can bring them to their knees— difficulties such as problems within the marriage or just the stress of the job. The man of the house might spend days or weeks on the road, leaving the wife to be both mother and father to the children. Stress builds up. Phone calls home end in arguments and anger. (read more)

I don't get this God and purity thing!

Isn't being good enough?

My family hates my job...

What can I do?

Earning a living on the road is not easy for anyone involved. It is hard, tiring work even though it does have its points of enjoyment. Some wives are completely happy with a marriage that includes a husband who is gone most of the time. Some couples work together on the road. But it can also be strainful on a relationship. Some wives need more time with their husbands. Some children need more time with their fathers. The choice whether to stay or change occupations can be a tough one to make. But in some families there comes a time when the man of the house has to make a decision to go home and do all that he can to fill all the shoes that he needs to fill. (read more)

The porn addict...

Accountability

As men, we carry our pride like a badge of honor. We use it for a shield against anything that might threaten our self-esteem. We hide behind it when other people attempt to offer suggestions which, if followed, would require us to change our courses in life. We know better than anyone else what is best for ourselves. After all, we managed to bring ourselves to the place in life where we are. And we will do a fine job of going on the next step. (read more)

Help On The Road...
